Tomatoes in Florida | How I Grew Mine 7 Feet Tall!
Best Boy tomatoes are one of the tomato varieties I’m growing here on the land.
They’ve been strong, productive, and honestly kind of ridiculous this year.
Some of my tomato plants have grown over 7 feet tall, which tells me they’re liking the setup.
This is one of those plants that makes you feel like the garden is actually starting to work.

Full sun. Consistent water, but not too much. I’ve learned that overwatering tomatoes can make the fruit too soft and watery. This year I’m focusing more on steady moisture, good drainage, mulch, and checking the plants daily.

This is where zucchini really stands out.
It’s one of those plants that makes you feel like what you’re growing can actually become part of everyday life.

When I transplant tomatoes, I plant them deep. Tomatoes can grow roots along the buried stem, which helps create a stronger root system. That seems to make a big difference in how sturdy and healthy the plants become. It’s one of the main things I’m doing with the tomato plants I’m growing for the plant sale.

Harvest when the tomato has full color and feels slightly soft, but not mushy. I don’t want them popping like balloons the way they did when I overwatered last year. This year the fruit feels stronger and more balanced. That tells me the watering and care are finally starting to dial in.
